For a man with the
middle name Milton, it was entirely
appropriate that Love III produced
poetic golf in 2003, winning four
times on the US PGA Tour for the
first time on his way to equaling
his highest finish on the Money
List, namely third. Was the perfect
reply to people who suggested his
career might be on the slide after
recording no wins in 2002 and
finishing outside the top 20 on the
Money List for the first time since
1993. Father was a highly regarded
golf teacher who died in a plane
crash in 1988, three years after his
son represented USA in the Walker
Cup. Davis III was born shortly
after his father contended for the
1964 Masters Tournament. Wrote book,
'Every Shot I Take' to honor his
dad's lessons and teachings on golf
and life. Book was named recipient
of 1997 USGA International Book
Award. Had several near misses in
Major Championships before finally
capturing the 1997 US PGA
Championship with brother, Mark,

No stranger to success in
international competition however,
having won the World Cup for
America, in tandem with Fred
Couples, every year from 1992-1995,
the latter year seeing him also win
the individual competition. Also a
regular Member of the United States
Ryder Cup Team having played in the
last five Matches. Owns and raises
horses, with a seven-stall barn at
home. Daughter Alexia is a
nationally ranked competitive rider
in the adult division on Paso Fino
horses. Love Enterprises and
Associates redesigned Forest Oaks
Country Club, site of the Chrysler
Classic of Greensboro, in 2003.
