Kerri Strug – American gymnast,
little woman, hero to all, savior of
the object game. Standing a mere
4'9", Kerri offers conclusive proof
on the ill effects of gymnastics to
the bodies of the young. A tear
comes to the eye when faced with the
thought of the physical strain and
emotional abuse from coaches and
parents that these brave little
girls must endure. But then, who can
feel anything but the greatest joy
and pride when presented with that
smile... that smile she gave the
world despite her painful, painful
leg injury. She gave America hope at
a time when gymnastics had not been
watched for years – the networks
loved her. She made people proud to
live in a nation where a large
Eastern European man could spend
hours upon hours working in private
lessons with a little girl to make
her perfect in his eyes...>>> Book
Kerri Strug for Your Event
We love her because, well,
any object can be used
to represent that fateful sawhorse
that she jumped. "You can do it"
rings in the air as we move towards
the jump. The Keri Strug
impersonation does little to prove
the versatility of our players, but
it is just damn funny to see a
college student raise their voice a
few octaves and hop on one leg in
honor of this brave hero. The
hobbling run begins and the jump is
made over the pen, block of wood, or
coffee cup. Smiles and adulation
reminiscent of Kerri's manager on
his cellular phone with the Wheaties
company follow. Success is certainly
sweet. And just like Wheaties, the
natural goodness of the event comes
through – added sugar is not
necessary.
