All-Star, Malone led the
NBA in rebounding six
times and averaged more
than 20 points per game
for 11 consecutive
seasons. He led the
Philadelphia 76ers to
the 1983 NBA
Championship and was
named the Finals MVP. A
three-time MVP, Malone
was an All-NBA First
Team four times and an
All-NBA Second Team four
times. He was named NBA
All-Defensive First Team
once and All-Defensive
Second Team once. In
1996, Malone was named
as one of the 50
greatest players in NBA
history. During his
19-year NBA career,
Malone scored 27,409
points (20.6 ppg) and
grabbed 16,212 rebounds
(12.2 rpg). Malone began
his professional career
with the Utah Stars and
St. Louis Spirit in the
ABA. He was named to the
ABA All-Rookie team in
1975 and the All-Star
team in 1975.
