The
2002 Olympic Gold Medalist in
Halfpipe, Ross grew up in
Londonderry, Vermont and attended
the Stratton Mountain School on
scholarship. Considered
snowboarding's first child prodigy,
Ross competed in his first U.S.Open
at the age of nine, while his 4th
grade class watched. In 1998, Ross
represented the U.S.A. in the Nagano
Winter Olympics and won the bronze
medal (the first in United States
snowboard history). That same
season, he scored nine event wins,
including six World Cup victories,
two Grand Prix victories, the World
Cup Halfpipe title and the U.S. Open
title. In 2000, Ross continued his
reign of dominance by winning a gold
medal at the NBC Gravity Games, as
well as the TNT Winter Goodwill
Games, winning all of the Vans
Triple Crown events and the silver
at the ESPN X Games in halfpipe, not
to mention the World Overall and
Halfpipe titles. In the 2001 season,
Ross continued to set the standard,
and earned a bronze medal at the
ESPN X Games. At just 23 years of
age, Ross has established himself as
the most successful snowboarder in
the history of the sport...>>>
